Foot Washing: A Biblical Context

In biblical times, the Israelites often purchased slaves to perform tasks such as washing the feet of guests in their homes. Typically, the owners of the houses did not wash their feet themselves.

During the time of Yeshua (Jesus), slaves were often treated poorly. However, Yeshua demonstrated humility by washing the feet of His disciples, illustrating that all are equal—there are no owners or slaves in His eyes. He conveyed the message that by humbling oneself, one can truly elevate their spirit.

Yeshua exemplified love for others through this act of service.
